Not for Profit

The Indigenous Reading Project (IRP) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving literacy outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Since its founding in 2012, IRP has worked with schools, families, and communities to support young people in building the literacy skills they need to succeed. Their programs provide free access to books, digital resources, and community-based support, helping to close the literacy gap and create lifelong readers.
The Challenge
As IRP grew, so did the complexity of managing its programs and partnerships. Much of the organisation’s work relied on manual processes, spreadsheets, and repetitive administration. These tasks were labour-intensive and costly, diverting valuable time and resources away from their goals. The team needed a centralised system that could streamline operations, reduce costs, and provide the flexibility to adapt as their programs expanded.
Our Solution
Agility Automation partnered with IRP to design and build a custom CRM powered by Airtable. We worked closely with their team to understand the unique needs of a not-for-profit organisation and ensure the system would deliver both efficiency and impact.
Key features of the solution included:
Advanced CRM in Airtable – A central hub for managing schools, families, and program participants.
Document automation – Automatically generating reports, agreements, and other documents.
Online forms – Seamless data collection from schools and community partners.
Integrations – Connecting Airtable with other platforms to remove double handling.
Airtable automations & interfaces – Automating workflows and providing easy-to-use dashboards for staff.
Custom interfaces – Allowing different teams to access the information most relevant to them.
The Results
The new CRM has transformed how IRP operates. Processes that once required hours of manual effort are now handled automatically. This has led to significant savings in both time and money, allowing the team to focus more on delivering literacy programs and less on administration.
As Dan Billing, CEO of the Indigenous Reading Project, said:
“The team at Agility spent time understanding our business and worked with us to build a great CRM. They bring together technical expertise with great communication. The bottom line for us with our new CRM is that we have saved time and money.”
Conclusion
By combining deep technical expertise with clear communication, Agility delivered a tailored system that empowers IRP to do more with less. The new CRM not only improves efficiency today but also provides a scalable foundation to support IRP’s mission into the future.
